A Culture of Creative Minds :

Why is the United States so innovative? Are our minds just more creative? If so, why, is it nature (genetics) or is it nurture (culture, society, education, freedom and the language we use) or is it some of both, or rather all of that?

I was discussing all this with an acquaintance last year, Jared Kent, who ponders a rather interesting set of questions. I'd sure like to talk about this if you have a few moments, perhaps this will provide more insight into your own minds creativity?

Jared states; "In my opinion, we must ensure that in America we create a culture of creative minds and ideas. This is after all why America has been so great. Assuming America's way of life is great, I think did pretty decently and maybe have lost our way a bit recently."

Well stated my Good Sir! And, I can confirm that; "we are great," as I've been to every city in the USA by motor coach. It's great, it's okay to say that truth.

Comparing is tough because things elsewhere are so different, and yes, they are "just another way" to organize society and live, but there is more to it than just that in the US, a lot more, perhaps intangible or difficult to wrap empirical evidence around but great just the same - we should export greatness - what a give to the rest of the world it could be.

Jared whose wife is a great teacher, noted that she must teach in a certain approved way and in doing this our schools "are attempting to compete with the pure knowledge base of Japanese and Chinese students. Knowledge is great and needed but creativity with that knowledge is what made us great as a country, in my opinion," next Jared ties this into the concept of cross-pollination, "basically the ability to take knowledge and see how it can be used in different fields. Cross pollination of knowledge and technology."

Yes, knowledge is quite interesting, I enjoy knowing facts (supposed facts of relative finite circumstances) but sometimes I see that facts or knowledge are not always enough to get you there, it is only enough to keep you there, or in another term; stagnation.

You cannot get a breakthrough using such a limited style of teaching, and so it is time to get to the next step and concentrate on creativity Please consider all this and think on it.
