Are you living your dream? Have you resigned to the mundane routine of day-to-day existence? Remember all the dreams you had about what you would love to be when you grow up?
I have a feeling not a lot of people get to live their dreams, I understand how some of these dreams may have been bound to fail because they were unrealistic to begin with (those ideas of being Cat-woman when you get older was really never going to happen, was it?). However, with more down to earth desires, why do we sometimes let it get lost?
It is understandable that certain constraints like a shortage of financial support may make it very difficult to pursue some childhood dreams, especially if it is one that requires several years of intense learning, for example being a surgeon.
Over time, when the reality of having responsibilities to meet, and bills to pay arises, it may drive one to take the easiest, most readily available option with regards to making a living, but the dream does not have to die. If you aren't totally overwhelmed with life, make a cup of tea and ponder how in your current situation you can STILL make your dream come true.
Take a close look at the skills you may have acquired up to this point, therein may be something beneficial in making those steps towards your dreams easier than you thought. We are never too old to learn new skills or improve on already acquired know-how, it only requires the right amount of aspiration and a strong resolve to make a change.
Once you have identified what your most relevant talents and skills are, create a plan around it by looking at ways they can be incorporate into the current scheme of things and follow your plan to the letter. Do some research into your career/path of interest, look at the option of further training, if needed speak to close friends and family about it, look online for forums or websites giving advice specific to your chosen field.
Find every bit of information you can to ensure no stone is left un-turned. Most importantly, feel the fire in your stomach, feel the desire to pursue your dream, if these are not present, you may just be walking in a different direction and still end up at the same destination you thought you were escaping, another dead-end job with zero satisfaction.
