Happiness is a Dog Who Loves Me :

It's been a few months since I've written and here I am resurfacing. Many social media experts and marketers have told me "You SHOULD write on a more regular basis". I'm of the mindset that "should" eventually leads to a manifestation of physical illnesses, so I avoid thinking "I should do this" or "I should do that".

Instead I focus on following my inner calling and listening to what truly makes my heart sing. When we are truly happy, we can lead our lives from a place of peace and fulfillment.

So what is it that makes your heart sing? Do you feel that you can live your life as you choose and not as you "should"? It comes back to how you feel after you make a decision. Sometimes decisions are not easy to make and we tend to put them off.

Once the decision is made, you may notice that you immediately feel better. When you want to manifest the life of your dreams, you need to listen to your feelings.

I suggest you start with little steps. Start by making a list of a dozen or so things that make you feel good. These can be little everyday things that we sometimes don't fully appreciate. It's all about discovering the magic in the little things in life.

So what can some of these little things be? Here are a few examples from my list:

1. Eating my lunch outdoors
2. Having a hot bath in a soaker tub
3. Jumping on my rebounder
4. Calling a friend just to chat
5. Treating myself to a bowl of plump raspberries
6. Spending time in the sunshine whenever possible
7. Playing with my dog

Does this list give you a starting place and have you thinking about your own list? Everyone has different likes, so go wild and make a list of your favourite things.

I must admit that although playing with my dog is at the bottom of my list, my dog often brings so much joy into my life. He greets me at the door every time I come home as if it's the first time. He's full of boundless energy, love, and joy.

On days when I'm working from home, he'll remind me to take a break on a regular schedule of every hour to hour and a half. I'll ask "Do you want to go out?" - no reaction. I'll ask "Are you hungry?" - no reaction.

But when I ask "Do you want to play?", he jumps and runs in circles with his tail wagging for joy. I think we could all learn a lot from our dogs by leading simpler, yet happier lives.

Because my dog and other happy animals bring me so much joy, I've added a new section to my website with "Happy Clips". Please check it out and let me know what you think.

If you come across clips that you think would be good to add to this page, I'd love to hear from you. Let's all join together to make the world a happier place.
