Live Your Life, It Belongs To You :


Live your life. Yes, live your life the way you want to. Do what makes you happy.

So many times we get so caught up in what other people think and what they do that we start to think to ourselves "Should I be doing that too?" "Maybe I'm doing it all wrong, and my life would be so much better if only I did the things that (you fill in the blank) did.

The truth is that you will never be genuinely happy doing the things that other people do unless you like them as well. If you don't, if you don't really feel drawn to do things in a certain way; if you only think that because you see somebody else doing, it then you'll never be happy.

Let me give you an example. Peas. Now you may be thinking to yourself, "Okay, Debbie, you must have been out in the sun too long, what the heck do peas have to do with being happy?"

It's simple; I don't like peas. Okay, I'll be honest here, I more than dislike peas I absolutely hate them. So even if somebody came along and told me that if I liked peas that my life would be perfect it wouldn't matter to me.

My life would not be perfect because I would be choking down the gosh darned peas! Your life might be perfect if you liked peas. Your Aunt Matilda's life might be perfect if she liked peas. But not me.

Now, kidney beans are a different story. I like them.
