So many times in life, you make plans, you have a dream, a vision, you have ambitions, but it just doesn't work out for you. You are honest, hardworking, and you do your work exactly the way it is expected of you. Also, you have expectations in life.
You work hard so that you can give your family a better life, a better home, a new car, some EXTRA MONEY in the bank. Maybe you want to save some money for a nice, relaxing holiday. But it just doesn't work out that way for you.
Instead, you find yourself, once again, unemployed. To make matters worse, work is scarce and your wife has to work even harder to be able to just make ends meet, and just to survive. I have been there; I have been in that same situation.
And even though you try hard looking for a job. Any job just to take the pressure off your wife. You run around all over like a headless chicken, but to no avail. As a man, as the person who is supposed to be the main provider in the house, it's a great disappointment.
It's depressing just mention about these situations, because I've been there. So, I feel I can speak with authority about this. So, back to my point, what are you going to do?
The best advice I can give is; don't give up. In a situation like that, it's time to start thinking outside the box. By that, I mean think differently. For a start, stop looking for work where there is no work, you just won't find it.
Look for other, different options to support yourself and your family. Probably, it will take time, lots of time to get to the point where you can fully provide for your family again. But it is possible to get to that point. Start your own small business, maybe. Something that will not take thousands of dollars to get started.
There is a big advantage to having your own small business. Who is going to fire you unfairly, or retrench you if you are the boss, the owner of the business? Find something to do with yourself, keep your mind active. Be positive, even though it looks hopeless.
It's time to take the bull by the horns and be proactive in life. There are lots of people who are in a worse predicament than what you are, so go out and help them. It will help you to take your mind off your problems, and by helping others, you are actually helping yourself also.
So, get out there and serve your community instead of sitting at home having a pity party. Which is not going to help you at all, in fact, it would seem as if it's even worse than what it actually is. So, get up and get dressed. Wash your face, and put a smile on it even if you have to push your tooth brush in your mouth, sideways. But don't ever give up; your family is counting on you to make it work. Somehow.
